Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing challenges for our host institutions, the in-person AMM-WFM Joint Conference in Milwaukee is rescheduled for summer 2022. Museums Evolving 2.0 will take place virtually on November 1-5, 2021. Program information coming soon.
Answers to many of your questions are listed below. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us by email.
Attendee Registrations
Will the registration rate for the 2021 virtual conference be the same as 2020?
This year’s virtual conference will have different registration rates from our typical in-person conferences, which will be announced soon. Members of AMM and WFM will have access to member discounts.
NOTE: Individuals registered for the 2020 conference were given the option to cancel or transfer their registration to 2021. Thank you to everyone who decided to keep their registration! AMM will follow up with each person to confirm their preference of options for registration for Museums Evolving 2.0, our 2021 Virtual Conference. You may choose to get a refund of the balance less a $30 fee or donate the balance to the conference organizers. Registrations may not be transferred to 2022.
Need to cancel your registration?
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to AMM at admin@midwestmuseums.org. A full refund, less a $30 processing fee, will be granted for requests made by June 30, 2021. Requests after June 30th and before August 31st will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be granted for requests made after August 31st. Refunds will be processed as soon as possible before or after the conference. Registrations paid with a credit card that are canceled more than 30 days after purchase will be refunded by check as soon as possible before or after the conference.
Advertisers, Exhibitors & Sponsors
What will happen with my sponsorship, booth booking or advertising purchase?
Existing conference sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers who pledged to continue to support or participate in the 2021 Virtual Conference will be reassigned to opportunities available and given first right of refusal for all new options. If you have questions about your booking, contact us.
Conference Program, Sessions, Events & Workshops
Will the conference program change?
Museums Evolving 2.0 will be all-virtual and flexible, with both on-demand and live opportunities. The program will include access to 40-50 pre-recorded breakout sessions made available before the conference (about 3-4 weeks) and after the live event (approx. 3 months) for learning at your own pace, when it is convenient for you. The live experience will take place mornings, November 1-5, and be centered around the peer-to-peer exchange we look forward to at conferences—plus inspirational talks, networking activities, and opportunities for Q&A with breakout session presenters. You’ll also have access to a virtual expo highlighting new exhibitions, behind-the scenes tours, product demos, and a myriad of other projects from Midwest museums and service providers.
Can I propose a session for the 2021 Virtual Conference?
Yes! While we have 28 sessions confirmed for this year, carried over from 2020, we will also soon announce a special additional call for session proposals. We welcome you to submit ideas for sessions within the suggested themes. Stay tuned for more info.
Will you be offering a special rate for session presenters?
Special offers for session presenters will be available. We will be in touch with session chairs with the details and instructions for accessing the discounts.
NOTE: We will follow up with presenters who registered in 2020 to transfer your registration to the new options for the 2021 Virtual Conference.
Support AMM and WFM
Can’t attend but still want to help the conference?
