Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship, Sponsored by Museum EXP


AMM and Museum EXP are excited to announce our first-ever Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship! The fellowship was created to support the advancement of museum professionals working in exhibit disciplines (design, development, etc.), and we will be awarding an all-inclusive experience to one Midwest exhibit professional in 2024, thanks to support from Museum EXP and The Emporium, their awesome exhibit merch site!

The Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship includes:

  • Complimentary Virtual + In-Person registration plus event tickets to take part in available sessions, networking activities, and museum visits during The Way Forward, the AMM 2024 Conference in Columbus, OH.
  • Opportunity to meet virtually with members of the Museum EXP team and AMM leadership prior to the conference to get tips, approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the event.
  • Additional $750 stipend for expenses such as an AMM membership or conference travel costs.
  • Opportunity to either introduce yourself, a project, and what excites you about the conference during an AMM social media “takeover” 1-2 weeks prior to the conference – or – to write about a project or another topic of interest for the AMM blog with 60 days after the conference.

How to Apply:

Professionals working in any exhibit discipline – design, development, project management, production, etc. – and located in one of the 8 Midwest states of the AMM network (IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, WI) are invited to apply.

Apply online using the form linked here. Here’s what we are looking for:

1) Share a portfolio highlight or a recent project/accomplishment you are proud of. Submit the following information:

  • 1 paragraph about the project/accomplishment selected and why you chose it
  • Up to 4 photos that illustrate the project/accomplishment (minimum of 1 photo)
  • Submit all materials in one format – either a PDF, PPT, link to Google Doc or Slides, or link to a page on an online portfolio or website that contains all of the required information

2) Share how attending the conference will benefit you. Consider these questions:

  • How will participation in the conference support your career at this stage and your future goals? 
  • What do you hope to learn or bring back to your organization? 
  • How might attending the conference “fill your well”?

Selection Criteria: Applications will be assessed based on relevance of work/projects featured and expression of need (financial and/or professional). Applicants will be notified of the decision as soon as possible following review.
